Ooops.. A Radio(?) bug: as you can see in the two posts below, the images don't show up. Inspection of the HTML source reveals that the WIDTH and HEIGHT tags in the IMG spec somehow get corrupted, although the rest of the IMG tag is fine. It's a repeatable bug since both images are foobar. How to fix on the road? Maybe one should post with no W and H specs..?

My favorite room in the whole world, for what that's worth, is the lobby bar of the Algonquin Hotel in New York. Famous for it's literary crowd in the 30s and 40s, a succession of owners have managed to keep the room (and the cat, Matilda) well groomed.

The 'Weightless' economy: 'We are in the midst of a profound transformation... From Bernardo Huberman's (short!) book The Laws of the Web, Patterns in the Ecology of Information (MIT Press). The weightless economy...count me in!

Blueprints vs. Recipes: Been reading the re-issue of Richard Dawkins classic defense of Darwinian evolution The Blind Watchmaker. In it he makes an interesting point about DNA as a 'recipe' rather than a 'blueprint' for a human being.

In a blueprint, there is a one-to-one correspondence between any given point on the plan and in reality. But, while a recipe describes the process of making, say, a cake, there is no correspondence between the elements of the recipe (the words) and the elements of the cake (the crumbs and currents). Hmmmm...
