Ooops.. A Radio(?) bug: as you can see in the two posts below, the
images don't show up. Inspection of the HTML source reveals that the WIDTH
and HEIGHT tags in the IMG spec somehow get corrupted, although the rest of
the IMG tag is fine. It's a repeatable bug since both images are foobar.
How to fix on the road? Maybe one should post with no W and H
specs..?

My favorite room in the whole world, for what that's
worth, is the lobby bar of the Algonquin Hotel in New York. Famous for it's
literary crowd in the 30s and 40s, a succession of owners have managed to
keep the room (and the cat, Matilda) well groomed.

New York, New York: is where we happen to be physically
this P.M. So here's a [mandatory] snap of Times Square. The Virgin Mega
Store was quite a cultural phenom, though I could only take about 20 minutes
of the crush. gulker.com's new Radio content management system allows
easy, remote updates...

The 'Weightless' economy: 'We are in the midst of a profound
transformation... It consists of the replacement of an economy based on the
manufacture of physical goods with one whose output is weightless and that
has global reach.' From Bernardo Huberman's (short!) book The Laws of the
Web, Patterns in the Ecology of Information (MIT Press). The
weightless economy...count me in!

Blueprints vs. Recipes: Been reading the re-issue of Richard Dawkins
classic defense of Darwinian evolution The Blind Watchmaker. In it he
makes an interesting point about DNA as a 'recipe' rather than a 'blueprint'
for a human being.
In a blueprint, there is a one-to-one correspondence between any given point
on the plan and in reality. But, while a recipe describes the process of
making, say, a cake, there is no correspondence between the elements of the
recipe (the words) and the elements of the cake (the crumbs and currents).
Hmmmm...
