Pervasive computing has come up in 2 conversations recently, one in Dotcom garden and the other on email, with Colin Hayes, an entrepreneurial colleague with whom I'd lost touch.
I wrote a 'crystal-ball' piece about same for NetFM in December of 2000. I think an unobtrusive mobile information device would be very useful, and increase the value of things like classified ads and entertainment listings, if it were well done... and if the personalization would 'learn' what I like, and not plague me with a blitz of not-really-useful stuff. I imagine it built into my sunglasses, like the crude illustration, left...
