Subscriptions cancelled: as I'm digging out from being off the Net for a week (the email alone is gonna take days to get through), I notice that all my RSS feeds have stopped coming in to Radio. I guess that, when Radio can't see a feed for some period of time, it unsubscribes from the feed. Hmmm... good time to reconsider the feeds, anyway... Comments 6:03:15 PM

 Not my year for Network reliability so far: no sooner did XO get our Net connection back up, than my firewall router failed. This is the second piece of SOHOware gear to fail in the last 3 weeks... the power supply on one of our 8-port switches blew Christmas day, and yesterday the Broadguard router stopped routing, for more than a few minutes at a time, any way (all of the usual resets, incantations, etc. failed to revive it).
Been playing phone tag with SOHOware support, so out of frustration I just went to Fry's and bought a new firewall: this one's from NetGear, cost $79 (half of what the Broadguard cost a year ago) and came recommended by friends Bahman Dara and Steve Snell. It's tiny, like the NetGear switch I bought when I couldn't find a replacement power supply for the SOHOware switch. I am tempted to pull all of the SOHOware stuff, and rewire the network while I'm at it. When Apple's Airport Extreme becomes available next month, I may just do without the wires, as well |
 Adding to the chaos at gulker.com is a kitchen remodel in progress. Here's what the kitchen looks like as we speak... it only took a day to demolish the old cabinets etc. It will take 3 months to put it all back...Comments 8:12:26 AM
