Safari Beta 2 is out and has a nice tab feature. As you're reading a page, you can Command- (or right-) click on a link: Safari will download the page in the background an put it behind a tab that appears at the top of the browse window. Very nice when you're reading long pages and don't want to break your train of thought to fetch a link...
