More 'corporate hacker' companies (or whatever you choose to call them): XBMC, P2P Overflow, Barb Wire Network, Ranger Online, Media Force, Cyveillance, Legal Research Associates. These firms are reported (by Net resources of varying quality) to be companies that are working for RIAA, MPA et al. (as reported in today's New York Times - see below). These organizations are reported to be engaged in flooding p2p networks with spoof files and/or writing software to attack computers or network connections of persons suspected of downloading copyrighted material.
One site lists blocks of IP addresses assigned to some of these firms. If their data are correct, then a firm called Cyveillance has accessed my Webserver 983 times in the past 4 months (IP block 63.148.99.224 - 63.148.99.255). Remember when RIAA and MPA were loud advocates of 1st ammendment rights? Can it be, at the dawn of the 21st century, that writing about them invites the attention of their reported vigilante groups? Sad...
