'Surgery' in process: live photo of the disk-cloning process happening as you read. Problem is that the Web server is an aged but reliable PowerMac G3 - the original Beige model. For some reason, the 2 ATA controllers on the motherboard only support one drive apiece - the CD ROM is on one and the HD is on the other.
So here you see the 'new' HD, a 10 GB model scavenged from our old, dead Pentium Linux box 'mounted' via the power cable and ATA ribbon which were yanked off the CD ROM. An app called CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) is in the process of cloning the old, full 6 GB drive to the new 10 GB HD (and thanks all for the tips on psync and Retrospect).
If all goes well, I'll just shut down, pull the 6 GB and install the 10 GB, and we'll be back up with logins, passwords, files etc. intact. Keep your fingers crossed...
