Yesterday we wrote: today we were trying to configure a new mail server on Linux. The easy part was getting POP and IMAP going: the hard part was getting sendmail to relay mail for users who authenticate. I figured there would be a good mail server howto out there, but if there is, I have yet to find it... Comments 6:14:02 PM

 Remember when Bill Gates told MS employees that security was the #1 priority? That was in January, 2002. Given that email has been all but unusable for a couple of days now thanks to MS security problems, I gotta wonder "what have you been up to for the last 20 months, guys?" I suspect the real priority won't change until we-all stop throwing money at MS for lousy products...Comments 9:00:21 AM

The Sobig F Windows virus has set records for the amount of e-mail messages it infected, from BBC News. On the one hand, gulker.com is all Mac and Linux so our machines and address books haven't been compromised: on the other, Sobig managed to scrape our email off of Web pages, so we're seeing bounces from well-protected mail servers with our forged return address.
