 W32.Swen.A@mm is the name Symantec is giving to this particularly nasty MS worm that mimics a note from Microsoft. While most computer-savvy types aren't likely to be fooled by this beast, it's spreading sufficiently fast (it has a number of guises in email and can spread via file-sharing, IRC and network shares) that Symantec upgraded its threat status today. Gnome 2.4 has been released, and it looks pretty cool. With Sun and Novell providing Gnome-based Linux desktops for large enterprises, I wonder how long it will be before enterprising types start packaging 'desktop-in-a-box' for small and medium businesses. And here's a GUI (and underlying OS) you can modify to your heart's content, unlike Windows or Mac... Comments 7:57:26 AM
