W32.Swen.A@mm is the name Symantec is giving to this particularly nasty MS worm that mimics a note from Microsoft. While most computer-savvy types aren't likely to be fooled by this beast, it's spreading sufficiently fast (it has a number of guises in email and can spread via file-sharing, IRC and network shares) that Symantec upgraded its threat status today. More fun for Windows users...

Gnome 2.4 has been released, and it looks pretty cool. With Sun and Novell providing Gnome-based Linux desktops for large enterprises, I wonder how long it will be before enterprising types start packaging 'desktop-in-a-box' for small and medium businesses. And here's a GUI (and underlying OS) you can modify to your heart's content, unlike Windows or Mac...
