 $1229 worth of Adobe software was waiting on my porch this AM. Gift from a secret admirer? Well, no... it's part of Adobe's welcome for new employees. Adobe has a reputation for being a pretty good place to work.
And, yes, (announcement) I've taken a (gasp) job... as an evangelist, for a product called Atmosphere which is used to create immersive 3D content. It does for 3D what desktop publishing apps did for 2D - greatly reduces the time and effort required. The Atmosphere team is a bunch of scary-smart people, and I'll be working with a former Apple colleague of whom I think the world.
A niche exists, it seems to me, for a whole new category of content: we have monster computers with extreme graphics capabilities and high-speed net connections: how long are we going to be content with 2D pages that offer about as much as Gutenberg was delivering 5 centuries ago? Anyway, I'm excited... start next week... |
