What's on my iPod: natch, I have an original 4GB iPod (not a mini!). My batteries have yet to die, and I'm still lovin' it, especially on long flights in combination with Bose noise-canceling headphones.
Anyway, last night I listened to Robert Johnson cuts, ripped from 2 (relatively) inexpensive CDs that cover every recording ever made by the legendary Delta blues man. Both are Sony/Columbia/Legacy re-releases; Robert Johnson, King of the Delta Blues Singers (original release 1991), and Robert Johnson, King of the Delta Blues (original release 1997). The original recordings were made in 1937 and 1938.
And, newly downloaded from iTunes, Me and Mr. Johnson, from Eric Clapton. Interesting... I love listening to different versions of the same song (I have a playlist of my iPod of different artist's renditions of Chain Gang, Another Saturday Night, Man of Constant Sorrow and a few other tunes).
Anyway, if you're in the mood listen to Robert Johnson's "If I had Possession over Judgment Day" and then Eric Clapton's version of same (you can listen to clips on iTunes store). A fun thing: search iTunes for Johnson, and then sort on song name and play the list. Even though I've bought this music, the abominal hack of copyright by congresspersons purchased by RIAA means I can't post them here...
