I've spent $196 for iTunes since Apple's Music Store opened. Mostly it's oldies and blues discs that are hard to find. I've also bought cuts that I had on vinyl, but never bought on CD for some reason, and new stuff - I don't think I'll ever buy a CD again especially from RIAA affiliates (Indies and Irish pub musicians is another story).
Whose music did I buy? Tom Waits, Commander Cody, Johnny Cash, Norah Jones, Pearl Jam, Peter, Paul and Mary, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Collins, James Booker (yes!), Louis Armstrong, The Hooters, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Peter Tosh, Johnny Otis, The Thrills, John Hiatt, Marvin Gaye, His Delta Cats and Jackie Bernston, Guitar Gabriel, Taj Mahal, Great Day, Rufus McKenzie, J.W. Warren, Elder Anderson Johnson, Jack Owens, Mr. Q, Robert Thomas, Cora Fluker, Pernell King, Frank Edwards, Carl Hodges, Cool John Fergusson and E. Williams, Preston Fulp, Mudcat, James Davis, Jahue Rorie, Little Pink, Drink Small, John Dee Holeman, Captain Luke, Neal Pattman, Cootie Stark, Willa Mae Buckner, Algia Mae Hinton, Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, Jerry "Boogie" McCain, Essie Mae Brooks, George Higgs, Etta Baker, Precious Bryant, Cora Mae Bryant, Edie Tigner, Macavine Hayes, Sol, Crickets (really), Big Boy Henry, Samuel Turner Stevens, John Lee Zeigler, Haskell Thompson, Yo-Yo Ma, Tons Koopman and Jonathan Manson, Clint Eastwood & Kyle Eastwood Quintet, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin & The Eurythmics, Avril Lavigne, Courtney Love, Sam & Dave, Four Tops, The Temptations, The Supremes and Diana Ross.
iTunes sure is convenient... I wish they would cut the RIAA idiots out of the loop and just deal with the musicians...
