NetNewsWire, the software I use to manage this blog in conjunction with Radio suddenly had a different look and feel last night. The posts on RSS feeds collapse under a headline marked with a triangle... very nice. Previously headline and post appeared in separate windows. I haven't upgraded or anything, but was very amused this AM to discover while poking around that this is just a configurable option that somehow got turned on.
Other than a commentary on my technical literacy, I think it says something about how software is used. NetNewsWire could hardly be described as bloated, not compared to the likes of Office anyway, but it does have 7 menus with dozens of options and a Preferences window with 7 tabs. There's a lot of stuff there. And, like a lot of people, I learn just enough of a program to do what I need to get done most of the time, and tend either not to explore further or forget things I don't use all the time. Something to be said for digging around in menus and help files periodically...
