Mac OS X 10.4.1 is here, thank you. External FireWire and USB drives still disappear when 'fast'-switching users, and the unrecognized keyboard dialog continues to pop up sometimes when someone logs in or out. I also see this dialog at work on a Tiger machine connected to a KVM switch.
The other fixes in 10.4.1 - for Mail, Dashboard, .Mac, and Safari - are for problems that hadn't yet shown up on my system. I do note that 10.4 treats .Mac syncing differently than 10.3.x, which used iSync. It's a bit tricky... iSync on 10.3.x doesn't give you the option to cancel parts of a sync, so think carefully when you set up the .Mac control panel in 10.4 - on the other end you have to accept a full sync or none at all.
Mail has been giving me a spinning beach ball for about 5 minutes since launching after applying the patch... I'm guessing it's re-indexing or rebuilding the mail db. Be nice if it would offer a little guidance... I'm afraid to do a force quit if it really is doing something, and not just hung. Did a search (keyboard kmosx4) of the Apple support knowledgebase on the keyboard issue... nothing there as yet...
