 New wheels, new lifestyle: so, over the years Linda and I have moved from practical cars - used VWs and Toyotas and Hondas when we were a young family, to spiffier rides - Lexus, Audi and Land Rover - in our empty nest years. Our Land Rover, 10 years old and with more than 100,000 miles, is beginning to show its age.
So last night we brought home a Ford Escape Hybrid. It's smaller, lighter, cheaper and gets double the mileage of the car it replaces. It doesn't have the deluxe touches of the Land Rover, but it will do the job just fine, I think. More next post... |
