Fun weekend: we went (see Linda's blog) to San Francisco Fire Department's 1906 Great Earthquake and Fire Expo, where we met Blaze, the dalmation (seen here on his turn-of-the-century fire engine), and hiked 7 miles along the Embarcadero. Then I spent the rainy parts of Saturday and Sunday playing with Google Page Creator.
So, now I have the beginnings of a mini-website on Google Pages, all in the name of learning how Google's AJAX tools work. They're straightforward, easy to use, and do some nice things like preserving links and formatting in cut, copy and paste.
The tools are still in beta; at this stage they are best suited to maintaining a relatively small site by hand. Still, Google offers 100 MB of disk space, and no FTP access (as of this writing). So, I copied a couple of old essays over, and a picture or 2, but now I'd like to do some original content...
