Xserve G5 offers 'huge savings' over Windows: "What's stunning isn't that Apple's engineers can, say, design a server with two 2GHz G5 processors, 1GB of memory, storage capacity of 80 to 750GB and loads of other goodies all in a slim 1U package," writes Computerworld's Mark Hall... MS GM slams HP iPod deal; HP says no WMA for now: Macworld UK has a pair of articles that shed light on controversies surrounding last week's news that HP and Apple had reached a manufacturing deal that will put HP-branded iPods in the hands of its customers, along with HP desktop and laptop computers equipped with iTunes. Microsoft to Extend Support for Windows: Microsoft Corp. will extend support for Windows 98, Windows 98 S.E. and Windows Millennium Edition through June 30, 2006, the company said Monday, reversing a decision from last month. AP via AlwaysOn Network. Interesting... I think MS realizes that a lot of those seats might jump to Linux desktops. Linux 9.x and OpenOffice.org/StarOffice are 'drop in' replacements for Windows 98/Office...
