The scene in Bryant Park as I made my way to work at Adobe’s NY office this A.M. The striking building is the Bryant Park Hotel, aka the American Radiator building. There are times when life in the big Apple seems like a really good idea…

Life in NYC doesn’t just seem like a good idea– it IS a good idea. But then again I’m biased. Ask me whether I think it’s a good idea in nine months to a year.
It’s interesting that you took a picture of the American Radiator Building– home of the American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporation for several years– as the building was once the subject of a Georgia O’Keeffe paining. You and Georgia have the same great taste in buildings. NYC is a treasure trove of ignored excellent architecture.
Great to see you– hope to talk soon!
Heh, me and Georgia… I read that the building, designed by the same architect who did Rockefeller Plaza, was designed to look like a radiator coil glowing in the dark - hence the gold trim and dark brick.
Good to see you too, Andrew. We will talk soon.
