Master bedroom after demolition

Got home about 2:30 AM this morning, and headed off to sleep on the futon in the guest bedroom. The commencement of our ‘last’ remodel had coincided with my departure on an 8-day business trip, so came home on the last flight from Chicago to a home in more or less total chaos (bed and bath seen in current state, above). Loyal dog Cassie was awaiting on her bed by the back door, but was too sleepy (and deaf) to hear me come in. Linda says Cassie waited there every night while I was gone… awww…

    Hey . . . hope the b&b gets flesh on the bones soon. Can’t quite tell the vintage, save for floor underlayment not being plywood indicating maybe pre-’50’s, heavier darker studs, and tar-paper house-wrap. And is that enough sway-bracing for the ‘quake-zone?

    Thanks Greg, appreciate the ‘pro’ view…. the house was built in 1954, and they do put these metal box braces in new construction nowadays…

    This certainly looks like fun - a new bedroom and bath. After the kitchen remodle that Libby and I did, I don’t think that I will remodle anything else for a long time.

    What is Linda’s e-mail, I want to send you two a “save the date” for my 60th birthday party (How did this happen, 60 years old??).

    Sophie waits by the gate for me when I am gone, and after 3 days decides to go on a hunger strike. It is an Aussie thing. She is 9 years old now and has “selective” hearing.
