We are intrigued by the new iPod shuffle, we must admit. I have always loved small machines, and the new Shuffle pushes the envelope on small. I can imagine that most headphones have a too-long wire: if you clip this thing to the collar on your T-shirt, you’ll have a couple of feet of floppy wire to deal with. You can probably just clip this machine into another physical UI – a wrist strap, say.

Apple continues its very nice industrial design – I would imagine kids will be all over this thing, and, at $79, their parents will probably let them buy one. Geezer moi will probably buy a new Shuffle just as a jogging accessory…
