Anne and Stuart, newly wed, head back up the aisle at All Saints Church in Pasadena. More than 500 parishioners showed up for the wedding at ASC, where Anne, a veteran of 28 years at this, the largest Episcopal church west of the Mississippi, has been described as the soul of All Saints. Friend Mike Podell commented this may have been the best wedding he’s ever attended. It was joyous and warm, which won’t surprise those who know this couple…

These palms greeted us as we stumbled out on to the streets of Pasadena for a jog this A.M. We’re in town for the wedding of friends Anne Petersen and Stuart Coxhead (pictured, left), and staying at the Ritz Carlton, formerly the Huntington Sheraton. The old Huntington looms in our family legend. It was the scene of family dinners and evening garden walks and cocktails with friends in its stately bars when Linda and I lived in South Pasadena 17 years ago.
So this morning we jogged out and picked up our old long weekend route around Huntington Gardens and through San Marino’s Lacy Park, where a new (to us) weekend scheme of locked gates managed to ‘trap’ us briefly in that pretty space. This old part of Pasadena appears to have changed little: it lacks the plethora of construction sites visible in Menlo Park and environs. Linda commented that it was fun to come back after 17 years and just pick up where we left off…
