Sewing our Pradas

Linda fielded calls from life-long friends Terye and Cathy this afternoon, both of whom noted that my blog hadn’t yet been updated. While both dear friends have been interested in staying up to date on our health issues, I fear Terye and Cathy haven’t been particularly interested in the techie or camera and photo posts lately, which have begun to return to the blog as my life has settled down, or, at least, into a new routine. This is good news. Really.
However Terye and Cathy would doubtless love the scene I’m witnessing as I write: my darling spouse is sitting in her flannel jammies, watching a movie while sewing a tear in her Pradas. Linda, whom I think as my princess (only too deserving of anything Prada makes) had a Scottish mother, Edith (’Ede’ to family), whose thrift is all but legendary - so, in this household, sewing our Pradas makes perfect sense. Many Silicon Valley princesses discard Pradas when they’re scuffed, much less torn. Ede, who left us some years ago, is doubtless gazing down from somewhere, smiling approvingly, at least about the sewing part…
