New Year’s day dawned bright and gleaming on Oak Knoll Lane this morning, a harbinger I hope, for a bright 2007. Cassie and I made our not-quite-2-mile spin in good style, and I used the opportunity to get more familiar with the Lumix DMC FZ50. Linda, meantime, started the year with the tough Dish run.
I took the Lumix to a ‘New York New Years’ (meaning, early) frisee salad and crab dinner (num) with friends last night, and Linda and I found the freeway eerily quiet and deserted at 10:30 PM as we drove home (I guess everyone had already arrived at the parties and bars for the big night).
Driving north on 280 about 7:00 PM, there were a half dozen CHP cars visible either pulling people over or conspicuously cruising the freeway. We got the message.
We spent a quiet day, Linda a bit vexed that the movies she wanted to see weren’t being shown at convenient times. I worked on the LAN, but kind of hit the wall on what I thought would be an easy ‘cheesy crate solution’ for the right-hand workstations. Instead, layers of ancient wiring and other cruft slowed things way down. We finally opted to streamline and simplify… back-to-drawing-board time…
