Dotcom garden, as seen in this morning’s light, is dormant as befits a 30-degree January day. I’ve been keeping my eye on Sunset’s ‘This month in the garden’ feature, which advises this month to plant bareroot roses and tuck in the last bulbs. Not sure about roses: Linda’s dad’s last roses, a container plant, died a few years ago. I’m not sure how good a place dotcom garden, with its big PM heat swing in summer, is for roses, but maybe we’ll try a container again and move it to a more sheltered corner.
We are definitely planning full utilization this year. I didn’t put anything in last year, after the previous year’s bountious, and very enjoyable edition. I’m thinking of doing a few Gulker Labs projects around the garden, including the return of the dotcom garden cam (and the ‘Virtual Serenity‘ page). I just loved drinking my morning coffee in the garden, and passing pleasant moments there whenever I could steal a little time…
