A high overcast and a jet contrail added interest to this morning’s winter sky as Linda, Cassie and I made a circumnavigation of the (currently) dry Lagunita at Stanford this morning. This was my second trip around this favorite, oft-traversed path since surgery, I’m informed, after Ms. Hubbard-Gulker researched the topic on her blog.

We passed an artist who’d set up an easel with a blank canvas: we decided that our life together going forward was a blank canvas that we would paint together, knowing that there might be a few colors we can’t use. I like that analogy…
