Family friend, winemaker Anthony Riboli is in town, so John and he and I went out to lunch (Mike’s Cafe), followed by (what else would manly men do?) a visit to Bianchini’s upscale market, where I asked Anthony to pick some wines.
His top recommendation: Termes Tinto d’Oro 2004 from Spain, which he has in his own cellar. In consultation with a Bianchini’s clerk he picked 2 wines he hasn’t tasted, a 2005 Tobiano Pinot Noir from Chile, and Pretty Sally 2006 Sauvignon Blanc from Australia. Eager to taste Anthony’s selections… Anthony is a new father, as John soon will be…
