What a way to start the day

So the Chemo meds sent me one of my least favorite surprises this morning (don’t ask) making for an unpleasant start to the day. This week, already busy, hasn’t started well. Sigh. Oh well. My life. Reboot, move on.
What really bothered me by the time I got to the breakfast table is the headline on A-1 of the Chron:
Governor deeply cuts funding for poor, old
He cites need to spend more on prisons in his state budget
What are we, and by proxy, our leaders thinking? Am I alone in thinking that there is something wrong with priorities that mean building prisons is at the top of the list…?

The people who want wealth equality are the same ones who want a 50″ plasma in every prison cell. There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
