Fire drill

Just what we needed: Adobe pulled one of its biannual fire drills today while I was on the 15th floor. One of the emergency response team guys promply showed up and offered me a ride down on the ’special’ elevator, but I was too stubborn and walked down the 15 floors with colleagues. He kept me in sight lest I break down, but I made it.

Made it to the 2 steps up to the gate in McEnery Park that is, wherte I got too cocky, tripped, fell and skinned my knuckles: I felt stupid. As usual, Adobe served ice cream and treats for all in the park. Luckily I’d had my bag with me, and just continued on to the CalTrain station rather than wait to go back up (it takes 1700 people a while to get back up 16 elevators or so that serve the 3 office towers).

Took a nap when I got home, but now feel pretty good after 2 miles (Cassie walk plus train station round trip) and a 15-story stair walk too boot. Compare to yesterday, when after only 1.2 miles I crashed hard and slept for 12 hours and you start to get how wierd is the randomness of oncological-chemotherapeutic-anticonvulsant-steroid myopathic treatment. I’d give a lot to know what it’s gonna be day to day…
