The arugula bowl arrives

Linda’s arugula was planted this morning, thanks to a little extra time in the schedule, afforded by the decision to work from home today. The bowl on the right is filled with a mix of planting soil, chicken manure and mulch - hopefully a good home for the arugula.
It’s pretty densley planted - the thininnings can go in salads made with the leaf lettuce from the planter box just behind. Soon, well have some tomatoes to go along with the lettuce (lots of small tomatoes are popping up on our vines).
Our pole beans and wax beans are coming along, though a bit more slowly than they have in the past, for some reason. I’m trying a new kind of pole bean, called Red Rosti, I think, which grows differently from the Blue Lake plants - it has yet to send runners up the poles. The tag in the pot called it a pole bean, but so far, it looks more like a bush bean…
