Dotcom Garden’s last hurrah

Dotcom GardenDotcom Garden has just been a joy this year: I wish I’d had more time to spend enjoying it. It’s just been one small corner of my life that is relatively ordered, stress-free and pleasant.

Now that our patio re-do is underway, however, we won’t be replanting or otherwise working on Dotcom Garden. Once the patio’s done, we’ll be re-doing the side yard where Dotcom Garden has lived these past 17 years (even before it was called Dotcom Garden).

The gravel may go away in favor of shredded bark: I’m still thinking about how to redesign Dotcom Garden for my current circumstances, and make maintenance as easy as possible. I think I want to keep the planter boxes and French-intensive gardening style. An irrigation system on a timer will be one essential system (watering currently takes a lot of effort). We’re keeping an eye on Sunset and other sources for ideas
