So, while we were up at UCSF’s Center for Integrative Medecine earlier this year, Linda pretty much signed me up for the whole ‘integrative’ (aka ‘alternative’) medicine stuff.
The Physical Therapy has been really good, and I’m already starting to feel stronger. But I’m also doing Chinese medicine (witness my twice daily potion, affectionately dubbed ‘Dragon Dust’) with acupuncture, mushroom extracts and a course in guided imaging.
Linda may have more faith in the alternatives than I do, especially the guided imaging. But I guess, so far anyway, I see no harm in trying.
One interesting point is that the diet recommended by both sides of the the house – the UCSF Neuro-oncology dept. and the Integrative Center, is almost exactly the same. Lots of vegetables, nothing from a cow…
