The Apple announcement

Apple is making an announcement at Moscone Center this tomorrow AM, widely thought to be about new iPods. CNET thinks Mac OS X is going into the iPod, as does The Chron, which will make it a much more powerful computing device, a la the iPhone.
iPod could finally get a more useful calendar and address book and do more than just play music and tiny videos (though I think iPhone is the real winner in that space - I’m just waiting for either my Treo to die or the iPhone price to come done). Anyway, let’s see what the Steve Jobs show brings… one rumor says it will play digital radio… maybe ‘just one more thing?’

I thought it was tomorrow. I’m so confused.
Hmmm. I think it’s today. BTW, the Telegraph says iPod will get digital radio capabilities… interesting rumor…

Paul- you’re right, of course, it’s tomorrow. EXcuse fogged brain… post corrected…
No worries, I’m sure I’ve seen it referred to as both today and tomorrow. Apple: move announcements to Wednesdays at your own risk
Yeah, it’d be interesting if it got built-in radio. They’ve had the Apple FM attachment for a while. I assume, if The Telegraph says digital radio, they mean DAB, and not the satellite radio you guys have in the US. Not sure about the “buy this song†thing: maybe it remembers you wanted that song, and puts it in your cart next time you sync with iTunes? Can’t see Apple adding wifi to the iPod.
Interesting last paragraph though:
“Demand for the digital music player that has revived Apple since its launch six years ago has fallen flat recently. Last year, quarter-on-quarter sales fell for the first time since launch.â€
Wikipedia disagrees on the last sentence: it says sales fell quarter-on-quarter in Q3 2002, Q2 2003, Q2 & Q3 2006, Q2 and Q3 2007. Year-on-year sales are still up (which after 6 years blows my mind – doesn’t everyone have one by now?), and there’s not a serious competitor in sight.
