A month and a few days shy of 33 years ago, one John Getze was born at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. Mom Linda found these amusing things in his baby book: a telegram (think: really expensive email) and a photo snapped by the hospital.
Granddaughter Grace, of course, is the inspiration for this post: imagine that you would once spend a lot of money to have a message delivered same day, and to have a photo made of your newborn. Both of those businesses have gone away.
We of course have emailed and blogged Grace’s emergence into the 21st Century. Many cell phone communiques and text messages have, doubtless, also been sent. One wonders how Grace will announce her children…
