Sunset, Punta Mita

If you’ve been reading Linda’s blog, you know we’re in Mexico at a resort in Punta Mita, north of Puerto Vallarta. Linda has been working hard to avoid being feted for a significant birthday, and escaping to Mexico was a way to keep her friends from throwing a bash for a birthday milestone Linda didn’t particularly want to remember.

So we’ve been lolling by the pool, dining on a lovely patio (view at sunset, above) and otherwise having a great time. The waiter who brought breakfast (told you we were having a ball) asked me for the English word to describe the surf this morning - ‘rough’ I offered. Thunderstorms are forecast later today…

Chris - I hope you and your Linda enjoy PV - a great place to get away from it all. My Linda also just had a birthday she does not care to acknowledge - must be something wrong with the alignment of planets.

Wish I could escape this madhouse and get back down to Mexico. Have to wait till June for our trip to Belize . . .

Hey Chris! In case you’re still there…We were just there… just north of in Bucerias in September (doing the exact same thing Linda and you are doing - escaping b’day blues). If you have a chance, there’s a spectacular restaurant in Bucerias called Mark’s. Imagine the decadance of a lobster-stuffed chili relleno with an incredible sauce…prolly not the healthiest thing in the world but had us swooning. They have a brick oven and do amazing breads but their house made seeded crackers are the bomb. It’s run by a couple of kiwi expats. I’ve never had a better “bread/cracker” basket in my life and the sangria is also stellar. It’s a lovely place (and has a great resident dog). Happy birthday to Linda!
