We’ve been dealing with what felt like, to me, an anemia episode - featuring fatigue, weakness and other no-fun symptoms - hence we’re a bit behind on the blog. My neuro-oncologist thinks I’m having steroid withdrawal symptoms (I actually went to zero steroids yesterday, but he thinks I began having problems around 1mg, 2 weeks ago). He’s recommending going back on 1mg.
So now I have to be bold and decide whether to take my doctor’s advice, or just stay off the steroids, hoping things will improve. My doctor did offer me the name of an UCSF doctor who deals with people on steroids, so I’ve made an appointment with this specialist. You really have to manage your own health, expert opinions notwithstanding…
