We had the opportunity recently, to speak with Du Nguyen, VP of marketing at startup Zipidee. Zipidee’s business model is to profit from digital goods offered by ‘prosumers’ - content that makes up the ‘long tail’ in the digital marketplace.
Zipidee handles all the tiresome stuff - hosting, tracking transactions, collecting money et al. Early customers include a firm that distributes educational materials, a guy with a dance lessons site, motivational speakers who don’t want to deal with book and CD sales. Interesting concept, interesting market… Let’s see how it works out…Â
