Six weeks with Leopard

Tiger (left), Leopard (right)

So, Leopard (aka Mac OS 10.5, on the right, above) has performed pretty much flawlessly (excepting the blue screen at install) on a Core Duo Mac Mini. Tiger (Mac OS 10.4.11 at left, on a single-processor G5) has had some USB problems (also seen on our dual processor G5 which has lots of problems under Tiger).

We may make the jump and install Leopard more widely on the gulker.com LAN. I’m a little curious about the best way to install on our problem-prone dual G5. I think we need some sort of clean install…

I’m going for a clean install when I get Leopard. I haven’t done one since Tiger’s release, and I’ve installed a couple of things since that I don’t entirely understand, and thus can’t be quite sure I’ve removed.

Linda is the main user of the Dual G5 (great to have 2 liquid-cooled processors for email and web surfing), and every problem becomes my problem (just call me Mr. Help Desk). So I would love to get a more problem-free OS on that machine.
