Silvio, post bathSilvio, Linda’s (and First Blush’s) faithful camera had a little accident yesterday. He (we’ve always thought of him as a ‘he’) somehow slipped from Linda’s pocket and landed, as luck would have it, in water.

We’ve kept him in a warm place hoping he would dry out, but sadly, after one brief wimper, he’s not budged at all - microelectronics and water are not a good mix. Silvio, by the way is a Panasonic Lumix FX-9 and has served Linda well: he’s taken a daily pounding (many consumer cameras are not built to take daily, all-weather usage) and, in Linda’s hands, taken some spectacular photos.

So, Linda’s getting a new Christmas present added to her list, a Lumix FX-100, the latest version of Silvio.  It’s like losing a member of the family…

Clario (Linda and I are very silly and name many inanimate objects in our household - the name is derived from the Latin clarus for ‘clear’) is a replacement for Silvio, an older Lumix FX-9 that had produced many spectacular pix on Linda’s blog before losing an accidental encounter with some water.
