So, if you were in the parking lot of Sequoia Veterinary Hospital yesterday around 10, you might have noticed a 50-something male sitting in a Ford Escape Hybrid, bawling like a baby. That would have been me.

Cassie was such a good friend and family member that I couldn’t bear to think of her being put down alone. The vet let us spend 15 minutes together before she came in. I teared up, but managed to hold back until I got to the car. It was gloomy and raining, to boot. Goodbye to a really good dog…

The only time in my life that I ever saw my father cry was when we had to put down our family pet dog, Penny. I’m sorry for tour loss of such a friend and family member.

    Hey guys!

I am so sorry to say Good-bye to dear, sweet Cassie. She was one hell of a dog!

I’ve got to say though, that when we had to put Joey down three years ago, it struck me how much more civilized it was than the way we treat our aged patients (and parents) in our “modern” Medical system…

Here’s to good dogs and graceful good-byes!

    Love to you both –

    Barb
