“Almost all biofuels used today cause more greenhouse gas emissions than conventional fuels if the full emissions costs of producing these “green” fuels are taken into account, two studies being published Thursday have concluded.” This according to Elisabeth Rosenthal writing in the New York Times. Previous studies left out the carbon costs of land use, which tips fuels like corn-based ethanol way into the ‘red.’ We need technologies like microbe-driven cellulosic ethanol production to get ahead of the carbon curve…

The media avoids the politically sensitive issue of population control, but everyone figured it out on their own. There are just too many people & not enough resources.
Chris-The answer is fuel efficiency as well as solar,nuclear,wind ,fuel cell technology. Not only do biofuels harm the environment but they increase food costs by removing farm land resources.Hope you are doing well. Hopefully we can get together soon.Stuart
