Dual monitors

So, I’m sitting at my $600 Mac Mini feeling like I’m at the helm of a mighty $3000 workstation, thanks to the dual monitor set-up enabled by the DisplayLink USB monitor adapter. The additional screen real estate really is useful: I can leave Mail and, say, Address Book up on one screen, while pursuing the Web on the other.

For my main applications, email and web, the Mini’s performance (its CPU and GPU are shared by the DisplayLink beta drivers) is just fine. There are a few (relatively minor) bugs that I’ll be filing with DisplayLink, but otherwise the experience is very good. We tried one other setup with 2 adapters; it worked fine, too…
