Catching up

So we are doing our best to catch up from four days on the road, but we were off to an inauspicious start this morning. Emerging from the blood lab shortly after 8, we discovered a flat tire on our Ford Escape Hybrid. That was the bad news: an hour or so later, the good news was that it was a bad valve stem, not a bad tire.

Then we were off to the gym: 25 minutes walking backward on a treadmill followed by 30 reps on each of four weight machines (we raised the weights on 3 of the 4). Then the pharmacy, then Safeway for staples. Back home we dealt with a missing tax form, an order for a new window, a confab with our oncology nurses and chores like sorting the mail, putting out the next day’s pills, prepping dinner, setting the table etc. etc.

After a nap and shower and dinner, we are only now sitting down to blog. Where does the time go…?

So I’m digging through my box of old hard drives for a replacement - the dead drive is an aging 80 GB external drive that backs up my current ‘main machine,’ a Mac Mini (Intel chip) via Time Machine. The drive, an USB unit, is bigger in some dimensions than the Mini. […]
