We walked for a bit over an hour today, in Palo Alto’s Arastradero Preserve, long a favorite jogging venue for Linda and I (and the late, much missed Cassie, the Australian Shepherd).
Arastradero is particularly delightful in the spring, and I was very happy to be walking its trails again. Linda jogged her 5+ mile loop (and waved to me) while I hobbled perhaps a mileĀ or so – a good distance for me as I slowly make my way back to mobility.
The hills are just starting to show the first hints of brown, this having been a particularly green and lush spring. We glimpsed no wildlife on this morning’s rounds, but we were a bit late in the day for sightings.
We saw the usual coveys of bicyclists and hikers though, on this, one of the first warm spring days this year (I was in shorts and a t-shirt for the first time). Our small, ’secret,’ parking lot was jammed by the time we returned to the car, so popular is this park when the weather is great. Our weekend outings are, for me, much anticipated events…
