We’ve been a bit busier – and less attentive to the blog – than usual, owing to the upcoming trip. We’re off to Montpont-en-Bresse, a small village in southern Burgundy, where Linda’s rented a nicely restored water mill house. The object of the trip is to spend 10 days mostly living French country village life (with a few day trips, perhaps).
Croissants and cafe-au-lait in the morning, leisurely lunch followed by walks in the countryside and dinner in – or out at a lovely country restaurant. the Bresse region is famous for its chickens – and chicken dishes. We’ll be shopping for bread and cheese and wine in the village most mornings, with a ride to Louhan (the ‘big’ town nearby) on market day. Naturally, we’ll be blogging: Montpont-en-Bresse, like most of the French countryside, is wired for broadband. 18th century house, 21st century network…
