Biologist and complexity theory pioneer Stuart Kauffman writes in this week’s New Scientist:
“those who are not religious remember Galileo recanting before the Inquisition and the millions killed in the name of God, and want no part of a God or a sacred that demands retreat from the truth of the world.”
Kauffman, a self-described non-believer in a supernatural God, has a new book “Reinventing the Sacred” in which he posits that a universe so full of creativity is in some sense, more awe-inspiring than a world created in six days. This one may go on the reading list…
