On faith

We’ve been busy writing, not blogging, lately, as readers can plainly see by the infrequent recent posts. I’ve finally whipped an essay on faith that I started some 18 months ago into some sort of presentable shape. Input gratefully received…

One Response to “On faith”

I have been pondering your essay on faith, in fact I have printed it (and the Wired article) out for purposes of revisiting this at length. This essay invites a response which I would only do with the greatest trepidation or we could say a health dose of “fear and trembling.”

I heard Karen Armstrong say on NPR recently that the militant atheists constitute a kind of fundamentalism of their own, indeed, the Wired article made the same point. It seems any inquiry of that assembly would deliver an answer from the far arctic darkness of human thought, “where it’s always winter, but never Christmas.” (C.S.Lewis). Well, that’s where I would come from anyway. Perhaps I had better not enter the lists for this endeavor.
