We just finished community platform session… Technology enablers coming up… Wyndstorm is presenting its Socialframes product…

Everything, it seems is moving to the cloud, including the office switchboard, according to RingCentral, a Voip-based virtual PBX that can be set up from a web page…

Bumped into IBM Venture Group’s Drew Clark, who we talked to at last year’s conference. Drew had some very interesting ideas about water and power, and what he saw as a ‘VC wedge’ of opportunities that will open in the future - he offered Onzo as a sample. More from Drew in a bit (and maybe a podcast).

LiveOps CEO Maynard Web talked about how the startup grew to $100 million annual revenue by connecting remote workers (mainly call-center operators) to available assignments. One example: they rapidly assembled a 4,000-person virtual call center to handle nearly a quarter-million calls for an American Idol phone-in one evening. They hope to branch out to other types of workers, with a goal of being the eBay of in-home workers.

We’re blogging from the iPhone [addendum: we’re now at a Mac, and have cleaned up and added to this post], and think we need a new platform. The iPhone is good in a pinch, but fairly painful for longer posts… Maybe a mini laptop?
