Heavenly times

One of our neighbors, Mlle. Vache, greeted us from her pasture across the road from the Berko house as we set off for the parking by the St. Jorioz plage at Lac d’Annecy this morning. I walked for 90 minutes (no falls this time), and was a little disappointed in the mileage, but I have been walking for 90 minutes or so every day since we arrived, a challenge being felt particularly in my weak left leg (this is a good thing).
I am approaching 15 miles in distance walked since we arrived 5 days ago - this is something I haven’t been able to do for more than a year. Thank you, Heidi!
Post walk (post jog, in Linda’s case) we are sitting on the terrace, surrounded by spectacular scenery, enjoying a warm breeze that may be heralding a weather change. I’m reading Jared Diamond’s Collapse on my Kindle, while Linda is reading ‘Obamanomics‘ in the New York Time’s Sunday magazine. Lunch, sandwiches from the local patisserie, has already been served. With a glass of the very good local Savoie vin rose…
