We find ourselves this morning with a small arsenal of recently-written scripts (AppleScript in this case) to ease the blogging process, not to mention a newly-hacked Automator (another Mac OS ’scripting’ tool) that, along with a couple features in Adobe Acrobat 9 considerably eased our annual tax preparation marathon. The world went from home pages to blog posts to single sentences. The quantity of new content keeps going down while the perceived value of less & less content keeps going up. It’s a lot like mortgages. The next big IPO will be Letterer, where letterers make billions of dollars in advertising revenue by typing single letters.
The big question is when will the shrinking content gravytrain model collapse & how much will taxpayers have to pay up to bail it out.
