We started the day at New Orleans’ new Insectarium, a very well done presentation on the topic of entymology, a space we shared with a gaggle of youngsters from Concordia Lutheran School, attired in bright green ‘Jesus is the Way’ polo shirts.
After our encounter with the bugs, it was off to Herbsaint for an encounter with gumbo, shrimp and grits. On the walk back, Linda steered us past Meyer’s Hats, the ‘South’s Largest Hat Store.’ which was doing a brisk trade in the snap-brim hats that seem to be favored by local men of a certain age.
Next up was a visit to Good Hands, a storefront on Chartres Street featuring expert masseuses and masseurs from Shanghai, where my aching lower back was quickly repaired. We then visited New Orleans photographer Louis Sahuc’s gallery – and Linda took a picture of us. Brigtsen’s for dinner tonight… the magic continues…
