Yesterday, after doing my ‘hard Heidi’ workout which involves getting down on the floor to do exercises called the plank (prop body up on forearms and toes – hold for ten seconds, repeat 8 times), and my least favorite, the ‘humility rotation’ (don’t ask), I made it up to my knees, and then – very slowly – stood up without having to grasp a bedpost or other support. This is not likely to impress many able-bodied folks, but this marked the first time in some 2 years that I’ve been able to do this. Scientific American is surveying its print subscribers on whether they prefer a PDF version of the magazine, or a browser-based version of the magazine using a technology called Realview. Realview is fine for reading graphically rich pages but, like Zinio, those pages are image files – you can’t copy and paste quotations. You also can’t link to articles, as you can in most online publications. Bad for bloggers… and one suspects the days of the print edition are numbered… 2:22:29 PM

Wonder how long until TV follows print media. They both require mortgage & car advertising yet TV isn’t suffering nearly as much. People still throw thousands of dollars at TV’s & cable subscriptions.
